I’m not a historian or a modern Indiana Jones, but I bet the oldest piece of the board game is a paper. And I also bet that the papyrus was invented not with the purpose of writing, but of playing. On the other hand, many assert that technology and games have always gone hand in hand and they were fueling each other; but no one will ever be able to take from my mind the image of the Alexandria library full of tables of scholars and “hardcore” players.

Nonetheless many generations have grown up with grandfathers who taught them to play cards and pretended to lose or humiliated them mercilessly. Between tears and laughter, many have learned the rudiments of the game from them. And many did not stop at the classic bar games but explored the subject and filled their houses with cards of all kinds and types. Anyone who has come too close to the Magic black hole has rarely come out without at least a few tons of decks.

In the last decade we have truly seen cards in all shapes and colors, and it is undeniable that this game component is the most versatile of all. Images, text, meaning, randomness, the card has everything a game author could want. However, cards are not immune to one thing: the chaos.

Here at The Dicetroyers, we have dedicated a lot of time and effort into making sense of card games; be they collectibles, living card games, sets, mammoth decks or even just the great-great-grandfather’s Bridge deck.

So here is our section dedicated to cards. Let’s start with the deck boxes; we have 250-card and 500-card versions. Card Holder with themes for Game of Thrones, Android Netrunner, Keyforge, which can of course be used for any game that uses standard cards.

Of course, we had to design solutions also for Magic; our Big Box for Magic the Gathering can hold a few hundred cards, even sleeved.

Lovecraftian atmospheres haunt our products with Arkham Horror LCG style; from the organizer for the base game to the NEW Arkham Horror LCG Storage Box, both with a unique design that we call “flip and pick”: rotating deck boxes, to have everything ready to use with a single gesture.

Well, now that the cards are in place, how can we improve the game? Of course, with the card stands! Our pick and play card holders will allow you to play without having the cards perpetually in your hands, and if you want to go even further, the raised card holders will be the perfect showcase to play. And finally, our storage-gameplay hybrid, or the pick and play deck box: a single container to hold the cards, with a top card holder to play like a true professional.

Our forge of ideas is always working and in the future there will be more and more solutions for cards and decks, to take your game to infinity, and beyond!
