What do I want to be when I grow up? An astronaut? A doctor? A policeman? NO, when I grow up I want to run a fast food chain, get rich, squeeze the workforce like a lemon and make everyone fat.
And if you also want to enter this fantastic world, where every gram of cholesterol brings money into your pockets, let’s come and play with me; we lack competitors!
Food Chain Magnate was perhaps the biggest success of Splotter Spellen, a small Dutch publisher that has churned out many gaming gems: limited editions for true connoisseurs.
We will roleplay as CEOs of small businesses whose sole purpose is to become the richest junk food magnates. In the small neighborhood where we will start our business, people are, let’s say, easily influenced, so we should bombard them with a single message: come and eat everything, cheaply.
Of course, it won’t be easy. The key to this game is the ruthless competition between players who, with discounts, fake increases in product quality, airships with logos in capital letters and various amenities, will fight the very tough battle of the fast-food market. In all of this, the internal management part won’t be missing: recruiting new staff, training them and (sigh…) paying salaries at the end of the month will add strategy to strategy, in a management system that couldn’t be more competitive.
There is, literally, a lot of meat on the fire. To succeed we will have to grab the most demanding customers, fleecing them well, while the others watch. The game will be centered around our workforce: having well-qualified employees and paying them as little as possible will be crucial to earning enough money and becoming the new Food Chain Magnate.
Cards upon cards, in short, at the component level the blessing and curse of every Eurogamer. With infinite problems of organization and space: 50 types of decks between employees and objectives will have to be placed meticulously on the (required enormous) game table, which will soon turn into a total chaos.
And that’s exactly why we at The Dicetroyers exist: creating order in chaos is our banner, and we had to help you with this little gem.
Our Food Chain Magnate card organizer boards will not only allow you to keep the decks upright, saving a few square meters of space on the table, but, thanks to the 50 dedicated slots, you will no longer have to struggle to understand where to take the card you need, whether it is among the objectives or in the workers. The slots in the worker board, in particular, follow the same training path as the manual, to find everything at a glance.
Besides, the sea of the fast food market is full of sharks, better to be organized. Shut up, and make some money!
