When we talk about “management” games, we cannot fail to mention the most management game there is, that is… running a company.

It is certainly not easy to swap mindset between administration, logistics, personnel, research and development, neither today nor, much less, in the mid-1800s. During those years an entrepreneur named Andrew Carnegie made his way in the steel market in the United States.

A “self-made man” who, starting as humble worker in a cotton mill, went on to open steel plants in Pennsylvania, bringing his name into the annals of US entrepreneurship. So much famous that Disney took him as a model for one of his most famous characters, Scrooge McDuck.

It happens often that the “German-style boardgame world” takes inspiration from famous scientific figures, such as Newton or Darwin, and less from high-calibre capitalists: with those names standing out in large letters on the cover of a board game. A challenging bet won by Quined Games which brought Carnegie into a brilliant Kickstarter campaign and, later, into all the gaming stores.

And what about the gameplay? A faithful reconstruction of the struggles of entrepreneurship in the industrial revolution, of course. From the construction of railways, infrastructures, residences and industries to personnel management, research and development of projects, in this game, there is an air of multinationalism, for the better or for the worse. On the other hand, only the best survives, and in this bizarre Eurogame we will have to be careful to plan every move, under the penalty of being excluded from the glory.

Carnegie was also famous for being a great philanthropist: the Carnegie libraries are named after him, and this aspect has been treated in detail in this title: one of the main ways to score points, in fact, will consist in donating precious shares and money to social works, from education, to healthcare, to assistance for the less fortunate.

To best manage a business, the ideal starting point is perfect organization, as we all know. And we at The Dicetroyers couldn’t help but throw ourselves into the market fray, of course! Our Carnegie organizer will not only allow you to start this game in a few seconds but will allow you to play it without shedding… departments. Our tray, in fact, will be part of your game table, and will keep all the departments in order by type, to run your company without any worries.

To be successful, you must first plan things perfectly. To win at Carnegie… too!
