When we ask ordinary people to name 3 board game titles they know within 10 seconds, their answers usually fall somewhere in the vicinity of Monopoly, Risk, Cluedo or Taboo.

And when we ask those who are a little more experienced in the fantastic world of board games to tell us which ones they played the most and first, perhaps we will hear another name between an Agricola and a Puerto Rico: 7 Wonders.

It was the year 2010, an “era” ago in terms of gaming, and Repos Production publishes a title by Antoine Bauza. If we had been in that year today, anyone would have said “well, who are they?”. But you know, even Steve Jobs started in a garage…

In a very short time, this game has taken flight better than Icarus with the wings of Mercury with graphics that seem to have been taken from Sid Meier’s Civilization… And in 2011 it had already swept the most prestigious awards in the world of board games, including the Kennerspiel Des Jahres and L’As D’or. And well, all that we can say is “Well deserved!”.

Yes, because this game is perhaps one of the longest-running and most complex introductory games in the gaming landscape: if they still asked us today to play a game of 7 Wonders, how could we refuse?

Crazy replayability, simple rules to explain and a strategy that is anything but trivial: every game of 7 Wonders can make even the most seasoned of gamers rack their brains as if they were playing Through The Ages. And this is just for the base game; because if we then add the various expansions, the perfect evening, not only for experts, is served.

The setup is also streamlined, with 3 decks of Era cards that, as you build your civilization (and Wonders, of course), give increasingly powerful bonuses.

So why on earth are we at The Dicetroyers talking about this game?

Well… With the 4 expansions of the second edition, things get quite complicated: new decks, tokens and components could scare not only the neophytes.

And so, to finally dispel any semblance of chaos, here is our Organizer for 7 Wonders that also holds the Leaders, Cities, Armada and Edifice expansions in the base game box. The definitive All In, with deck holders with spaces dedicated to each era and expansion, token holders with slots for each piece of cardboard and also… The ship holder for the Armada expansion.

On the other hand, expanding a game does not necessarily mean making it more chaotic, if you have the right weapons, of course. Divide in slots et Impera, the easy way!
